DeepSeek: A Game Changer? Not Quite

DeepSeek, the company that stormed into the market and sent shockwaves through the stock exchange (Nvidia alone lost half a trillion in a day!), turns out to be… just another AI model.

Sure, people hyped it up like crazy, but if you take a closer look, it’s mostly smoke and mirrors.

At our company, we ran an experiment to see just how good (or not) DeepSeek really is.

For comparison, we’ll use the good old Deliberate V6 (a 2GB model from Hugging Face) and DeepSeek JanusFlow 1.3B (4GB — twice as many neurons). I prefer comparing models by size in bytes rather than parameters. Bytes tell you exactly what kind of GPU you’ll need, while parameters? Not so much.
